Hey Kate,
Thanks for submitting these projects. I'm going to break the logo update part of this out into a separate bug (#892795), since it's pretty straight-forward.
We'll be back in touch after our meeting Monday on next steps.
Cheers,
Jennifer

Thanks Jennifer for your help. Just wanted to check-in with regards to timing here - possible to get the Certificate of Identification for Firefox Student Ambassadors drafted by July 23rd? (as highlighted in doc above). Thanks!

Kate,
Thanks for checking in. Assigning this over to Matt.
Hey Matt, do you think you might have a first pass for Kate by next Tuesday?
Thanks!

Hi everyone, I have had a chance to work out a certificate concept. Please let me know what you think of something like this. I can add and remove elements if needed. The 3 blank lines will be where info can be placed. Out of curiosity, will the name, university and date be added digitally with a specific font, or will it be done by hand ?
Thanks,
Matt

Hi Matt -
Thanks for working on this! A couple of thoughts:
*I think the words 'Firefox Student Ambassadors' should be positioned above the logo at the top of the page (so 'Certificate of Identification' doesn't seem without reference)
*Would love to have listed fields that align with each of the lines for the Name, University, and Date
My preference would be that the information be added digitally (not sure how done with a specific font - but open to your guidance), so I'm thinking that may affect the eventual format in which it is delivered?
Thanks!
Kate
Hi Kate, thanks for the feedback. I have worked your suggestions into this version. With regards to the info being added, maybe we can create text fields on a PDF document? I have created this in Photoshop, so it will be tricky to do any editing this way. Let me know if you think this will work!

Hi Matt,
Thanks - I think this looks great (thanks for the edits) - I just need to run it by our leadership body for their sign-off before I can give the final ok. When would you need my final go-ahead by in order to be able to integrate the text fields/convert to PDF by the 24th?
Thanks,
Kate
Thank you! If all things are good and no major changes needed before final sign off, I don't expect it to be too tricky to integrate the fields in a PDF. I believe this can be done using acrobat. If at all possible, tomorrow or Monday would be ideal.

Matt,
Wonderful. I will send it to them today and ask for any last thoughts they have by Monday (and then loop-back with you). Thanks!

Hi Kate,
I've attached an example of a few options for the Student Ambassadors Open badge combo. Each variation makes use of the original logo in some form. I feel that the simplicity of just the fox head works nicely...but wondering if you feel that it will convey enough of FSA look? Let me know what you think of these options.
The smaller versions are at the actual dimensions of 90x90.
Thanks!
Matt

Hi Matt,
Thanks for sending this over - will trade you reviewing this today for some feedback on the certificate from our leadership group.
Here's some of their actionable thoughts:
*Should not have the Firefox logo twice (but the one it does have should appear more like a watermark)
*Should have the signature/contact information of a certifying person. As we will be looking for Mozilla Reps to hand these out, it would be great to include some space (perhaps on the left side of the certificate) for the following fields: Name of Mozilla Rep Adviser, Signature of Mozilla Rep, and a link to their Mozillians profile (both of which they should be able to enter through text fields)
Thanks,
Kate

Hi Kate, thanks for the feedback. All seems straight forward and easy enough to change. However, want to clarify the Fx logo. You are referring to the FSA logo? So If I am to remove the one in the bottom left (replace with name & signature) and use the main one at the header of the certificate as a watermark? I was thinking the one at the top is used more of a design element as opposed to an official logo, that is why I have gone with two. Are we okay to use the FSA logo without the wordmark lockup?

Hi Kate,
I've attached an updated version of the certificate which include the changes you requested. Please let me know if this is closer to what you had in mind. With regards to the Mozillian account, I was thinking that an individual could make the 'm' along with the words 'Mozillian Accout' a clickable link within the PDF.

Thanks Matt! Re: comment #10, my favorite is the fox head one (minus the other elements). I definitely don't think we need to put the shield on the badge...that feels like too much to me.

Hi Matt:
Thanks for the changes! I just have a few more on this revised copy:
*Badge at top of certificate should be in color
*For the Mozilla Rep, they should have a total of three fields to complete: 1. Mozilla Representative (where they would write their first + last name), 2. Mozilla Representative Signature, and 3. Mozillians URL (where they can post the URL to their profile on Mozillians). Unfortunately while I think your idea of having a click-through is awesome - the majority of students will be printing this off and showing it to their schools so (although not aesthetically pleasing), I do think they'll be a place to list the whole URL of their profile
Thanks!
Kate

All of these look awesome! I just send to our Working Group for their in-put. Would it be ok for you if I was able to compile all of their feedback and send it to you in concise form on Friday? Please advise. Thanks!

Thanks Kate, I have a question about the name and signature, the way I have it currently positioned is to keep the name and signature as one lockup, so that the individual can place their signature on the line directly above on where their name is placed. I thought it made sense this way since that is how you often see a name and signature on a document. As for the Mozillian URL, that's not a problem to have it appear as the written URL as opposed to the link. I think it will be clearer as to what needs to be entered once the actual PDF fields are added. Let me know if you are ok with keeping the signature & name as one lockup.

John - my thoughts exactly. I've asked the Working Group to put all of their feedback on a central etherpad from which I will then use to synthesize their thoughts and then send back over to Matt on Friday.

Hi Matt,
Looks great. I like your idea about the signature line - the only final edit I would have here is underneath the signature line having not only their name, but also their status as a Mozilla Representative. What I'm envisioning would look like this, 'JOHN DOE - MOZILLA REPRESENTATIVE' and that they could then fill in their real name where JOHN DOE stands.
How does this sound? I think after that edit we should be all good.
Thanks,
Kate

Thanks Kate! I have made the edit you requested, although I have had to place 'Mozilla Representative' beneath the name field, since individuals names will differ in length. I have attached a PDF version...one thing that I am not familiar with is setting necessary permissions in Acrobat to allow people with only Reader to make edits and sign. Currently the attached version will allow a person to edit the fields and print, but not save. I figure this is not ideal, as people may want a saved digital version of this? Also current file size is 2.4mgs, which gives the document a nice crisp look, but if you feel that this will be too large in file size, then I can reduce, but the details may lose quality. Please let me know what you think!

Hi Matt and John:
The Working Group overwhelmingly favored the choice on the far left - the fox with a garland around it's face. Are you ok with moving forward with this?

Hi Matt:
Looks great! People are definitely going to want to save a digital version in order to email/share it with university administrators, etc. Will look into seeing if anyone else would know how to make this possible - sound good? With regards to file size, for these individuals it's usually the smaller the better so if you could reduce it would be much appreciated.
Thanks!
Kate

That sounds good to me. Sorry I can't be of more help with that. This attached version has been optimized to around 300k from the original 2.5mb. I'm calling it the low res version, but it still reads pretty crisp at 100%
